A Different Balance Sheet
World Environment Day – 5 June 2025
In 1972, the UN held its “Man and the Biosphere” conference in Stockholm, where World Environment Day was established. Since then, each year on this day, events and campaigns worldwide raise awareness about the fragile state of our environment and the importance of sustainability and the circular economy — all with the contribution of dedicated organizations and professionals.
While the primary goal of World Environment Day is clearly to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainability, it also offers an opportunity for reflection. May is traditionally the time for companies to publish their financial statements — June 5 can likewise be considered a moment to review the environmental performance of CÉH, or even ourselves as individuals.

In 2024, we achieved our revenue targets with improved efficiency, all while operating with a growing sense of responsibility toward sustainability and the circular economy. In addition to publishing our ESG report — which in itself requires meeting significant standards — we were able to work more sustainably, investing serious effort in developing knowledge and capabilities related to sustainability. In several projects, in close cooperation with our Clients, we successfully applied circular solutions aligned with the planned buildings’ long life cycle.
Studying the European Union’s 17 directives led us to understand the importance of calculating CO2 emissions over the entire life cycle of buildings — and to launch our first LCA pilot project. Based on our current knowledge, reducing CO2 emissions is the only viable path to maintaining a livable environment.
Water efficiency is another key objective, and in our work we continuously seek opportunities to reduce water usage.

In addition to our commitment to a livable environment, our sustainability goals, and our active environmental policy, we count on our Colleagues to increasingly share and embrace this responsibility.
We believe that in a cohesive community like CÉH, responsibility for one another should extend beyond human relations — it must also manifest in our commitment to preserving the world around us.
We believe our “environmental balance sheet” is a favorable one, and we are confident that CÉH zRt and its colleagues will continue to deliver outstanding achievements in both digitalization and sustainability by the next World Environment Day.
